Bio
Recruited from Caulfield, Horrie Jones was a strongly built utility who arrived at Victoria Park just as the club was entering a golden era. He made an immediate impression in his debut season, managing to break into a formidable Collingwood lineup that was destined for the 1910 premiership. Jones played the bulk of the home-and-away season, proving himself a serviceable option capable of holding his own in the contest, but he was ultimately squeezed out of the side for the Grand Final triumph over Carlton. He returned to add a handful of games in 1911, but found it difficult to command a regular spot amidst the immense depth of the Magpies' emerging dynasty, eventually departing the VFL after just two seasons.
