Stats
Bio
Recruited from local side the Essendon All Blacks, Hugh Morris was a solid half-forward flanker who struggled to cement a permanent position during a competitive era for the Bombers. Standing 182cm, he offered a physical presence in the forward half but often found himself on the fringe of selection, notably featuring in the club's 1952 Reserves premiership side rather than the seniors during finals campaigns. After leaving Windy Hill, Morris spent a season in the country leagues with Warracknabeal before St Kilda offered him a VFL lifeline in 1956. He added just four games to his tally with the Saints before finishing his playing days in the VFA with Port Melbourne, later establishing a career in the Victoria Police and the security industry.
