Bio
Recruited from the Dandenong Stingrays with pick seven in the 2017 National Draft, Hunter Clark arrived at St Kilda with a reputation for elite composure and silky dual-sided disposal. He made an immediate impression as a rebounding defender who appeared to have more time than others in congestion, eventually transitioning into stints through the midfield engine room. His breakout 2020 season showcased his potential to become a premier ball-winner, where his courageous attack on the contest and decision-making under pressure highlighted his class.
Despite his natural talent, Clark's trajectory was heavily impacted by a succession of significant impact injuries, including multiple facial fractures and shoulder issues that disrupted his continuity during his prime development years. These setbacks often forced him out of the senior side and led to periods of trade speculation, though he ultimately remained at Moorabbin. Having surpassed the 100-game milestone, he has settled into a role as a versatile utility, offering the Saints experienced cover across half-back and the midfield while continuing to rely on his trademark poise in traffic.
