Stats
Bio
Recruited from Deniliquin in the Murray Football League, Ian Egerton was a powerfully built ruckman who became a key figure at Glenferrie Oval during the mid-1950s. Standing 191cm and weighing over 90kg, he offered a robust physical presence in the contests, often battling against the odds in a struggling Hawthorn lineup. His individual quality was formally recognised when he earned selection for Victoria in 1955, a significant honour for a player from a bottom-four side that highlighted his standing among the league's best big men. Egerton remained the first-choice ruckman for the Hawks for much of his five-season tenure, providing reliable service until his final VFL appearance in 1957.
