Bio
Recruited from the local Brunswick Amateurs, Ian Jones was a tall utility who briefly broke into the North Melbourne lineup during the mid-1950s. Standing at 183cm, a considerable height for the era, Jones made his debut in Round 12, 1954 against Richmond at Punt Road. He managed five senior appearances in his first season, playing primarily in defensive roles, but struggled to cement a permanent place in the side. Jones added just one final game in 1955 before his VFL career concluded, leaving the game without registering a goal but securing his place in club history as Shinboner number 452.
