Bio
The son of Perth legend Bob Miller, Ian "Serge" Miller arrived at Fitzroy with a formidable reputation, having already captured a premiership, a Sandover Medal, and All-Australian honours in the WAFL. After a drawn-out clearance battle to bring him east in 1974, the versatile recruit proved his worth immediately, shifting from the centre half-forward role he played in the West to become a tireless ruck-rover for the Roys. He was a model of consistency, missing almost no football over four seasons and finishing runner-up in the club's 1976 Best and Fairest count. Miller returned to Western Australia in 1978 to win a flag and a Simpson Medal with East Perth, later cementing his legacy as a long-serving administrator and player welfare guru at the West Coast Eagles.
