Bio
Recruited from Brighton Technical School, Ian Pearson was a diminutive rover and small forward who played a brief cameo in VFL football during the mid-1950s. Standing just 174cm, he initially broke into the senior ranks with St Kilda, where he managed nine games across two seasons but struggled to cement a permanent spot in the starting 18. After failing to register a senior appearance in 1955, Pearson was thrown a lifeline by Hawthorn in 1956, following in the footsteps of his older brother Neil, who had been a 100-game player for the club. He added five games and two goals to his career tally in the brown and gold before departing the league with 14 games to his name.
