Bio
Recruited from the Kyneton Tigers in the Bendigo Football League, Ian Thompson was a dangerous medium-sized forward who demonstrated a sharp eye for goal during his brief tenure at North Melbourne. He broke into the senior side as a teenager, offering a reliable avenue to goal with his strong marking and accurate finishing. His most potent form came in his final season, where he booted eight goals in just two matches, highlighting his natural scoring ability. Despite this high strike rate, Thompson played his last VFL game at just 20 years of age before returning to the country, where he resumed his career as a focal point in Kyneton's attack.
