Bio
Recruited from Murrumbeena Districts, Ian Todd was a tall utility who spent five years developing in Melbourne's scholarship squad before breaking through to the senior list. Standing 191cm, he made his debut in Round 16, 1981 as a late replacement for injured ruckman Peter Keenan and managed to hold his place in the side for the remainder of the season. Although he showed potential as a key position prospect during his six-game stint, Todd left the VFL at the end of the year to join Oakleigh. He went on to forge a respectable career in the VFA, playing for the Devils until 1989 and briefly serving as a playing assistant coach at Mordialloc.
