Bio
Hailing from Tasmania, Theodore "Ike" Sellers endured a persistent journeyman’s apprenticeship before finally cracking the VFL ranks. He initially moved to Victoria to trial with Carlton and subsequently Hawthorn, but after failing to register a senior appearance for either club, he was forced to rebuild his reputation in the VFA with Coburg. His solid form in the Association earned him a call-up from Melbourne in 1932, where he was finally handed his debut as a mature-age half-forward. However, Sellers' long-awaited opportunity was cruelly cut short almost immediately; he suffered a severe leg fracture in only his second game, an injury that prematurely ended his season and effectively closed the chapter on his brief league career.
