Bio
A product of the Hawthorn Next Generation Academy, Irving Mosquito arrived at Essendon via the 2018 National Draft after the Hawks surprisingly declined to match the Bombers' bid for the Gippsland Power prospect. An electric small forward known for his defensive pressure and pace, the Halls Creek native made a memorable debut during the 2020 Dreamtime in Darwin match, showing glimpses of his potential before his rookie campaign was abruptly halted by a ruptured ACL suffered against Geelong. While rehabilitating throughout the 2021 season, Mosquito took indefinite personal leave to return to Western Australia and eventually parted ways with the club, opting to step away from the professional environment to remain on country.
