Bio
Recruited from South Warrnambool in the club's country zone, Ivan Rasmussen was a handy rover and forward pocket who added goal-scoring potency to Footscray’s rotation in the mid-1970s. Making his debut in Round 1, 1973, he quickly demonstrated a sharp eye for the goals, maintaining a career average of better than a goal a game through his ability to rove packs and snap under pressure. While he was a consistent contributor on the scoreboard, Rasmussen found it difficult to lock down a permanent role in the senior side over the long term, eventually leaving the VFL following the 1975 season after 35 games to return to regional football.
