Stats
Bio
Recruited from the local Camden club, Jack Evans was a tall prospect who arrived at St Kilda in 1951. Standing 188cm, he played 16 games over two seasons for the Saints but found his opportunities limited at the elite level. After departing the VFL, Evans moved to the Sunraysia Football League in country Victoria, where his career truly flourished. Initially joining Irymple, he was later the subject of a controversial clearance dispute before crossing to South Mildura, a move that required an appeal to finalise. He became a dominant figure in the region, representing the league in inter-league matches and capping his career by winning the prestigious McLeod Medal as the Sunraysia league's best and fairest in 1959.
