Bio
Born in Mount Duneed, Jack Allen was a homegrown talent who earned his opportunity with Geelong during the 1907 VFL season. Recruited from the local district leagues, Allen broke into the senior side and donned the hoops eight times during a single-season stint at Corio Oval. While contemporary records of his specific on-field duties are sparse, his failure to register a goal suggests he was primarily utilized in a defensive capacity or as a follower tasked with stopping opposition forays rather than attacking. His time at the elite level was brief, concluding at the end of the 1907 season, after which he remained a lifelong resident of the Geelong area.
