Bio
Recruited from Traralgon, Jack Anderson found opportunities scarce in a powerful Richmond era but immortalised himself with a pivotal cameo in the 1932 Grand Final. Named as the 19th man, Anderson was injected into the fray during a frantic final term and pounced on a defensive fumble to snap a crucial goal that reclaimed the lead for the Tigers. Despite this premiership heroics, he remained on the fringe at Punt Road and transferred to North Melbourne in 1935 following a season out of the league. He found greater consistency at Arden Street, playing 59 games as a reliable utility who could fill gaps across the ground for the Shinboners. His life was tragically cut short at age 49 when, serving as a fireman, he died in the line of duty while supervising salvage operations at a city fire.
