Bio
Recruited from Footscray Tech Old Boys, Jack Borlase was a local product who managed a brief cameo for the Tricolours during the wartime 1941 season. Standing 182cm, he played three senior games before his VFL career was effectively curtailed by the Second World War, during which he served as a corporal in the Australian Army. While his time at the elite level was fleeting, Borlase returned to become a patriarch of suburban football in Melbourne's west, dedicating decades to the North Footscray Football Club as a coach, president, and administrator. His massive contribution to the grassroots game was eventually recognised with a pavilion named in his honour and life membership of the Western Region Football League.
