Bio
Recruited from South Melbourne Juniors, Jack Brennan entered the VFL ranks during the talent-depleted years of the First World War. He made his senior debut for South Melbourne in 1917 and became a reliable fixture in the side the following season, featuring in 12 games as the club pushed for the premiership. Despite playing the majority of the 1918 season as a serviceable follower and forward, Brennan missed selection for the Grand Final victory over Collingwood, denying him the chance to be a premiership player. He departed the league shortly after, remembered as a squad member who played a role in stabilizing the team during a successful but turbulent era.
