Bio
Arriving from Essendon in 1924, Jack Chambers quickly established himself as a versatile big man for the Pivotonians, capable of imposing himself in the ruck or providing a focal point in attack. Renowned for his strong overhead marking and ability to support his midfielders, he became a central figure in Geelong’s breakthrough era, notably lining up on a half-forward flank in the club’s historic maiden VFL premiership side in 1925. His ruck partnership with Denis Heagney was often cited as a decisive factor in the team's success, earning Chambers selection for Victoria in 1926. He remained a dangerous scoring threat until the very end of his tenure, capping his career by finishing as the club’s leading goalkicker in his final season in 1928, and was later inducted into the Geelong Hall of Fame.
