Bio
Recruited from local side North Essendon Methodists, Jack Clarkson was a versatile small man capable of playing as a rover or in the back pocket. He progressed through the Thirds to the senior list but found regular selection difficult to come by, managing just five games across three seasons at Windy Hill. While he struggled to break into the senior 22, he was a standout performer in the lower grades, notably earning selection for the League Seconds State side in 1956. After missing the entire 1957 season at senior level and adding just three appearances in 1958, he left the VFL to continue his career with Coburg in the VFA.
