Bio
Jack Connelly was a sharp-shooting forward recruited from Preston in the VFA, arriving at the Junction Oval during the Second World War when the Association competition was in recess. He wasted little time becoming a central figure in St Kilda's attack, providing a reliable avenue to goal during a lean period for the club. His most productive campaign came in 1943, where he finished as the Saints' leading goalkicker with 27 majors despite managing only 11 appearances for the season. A talented spearhead who proved he was more than capable of matching it with the state's best defenders, Connelly eventually departed St Kilda to return to his original club once the VFA resumed operations in 1945.
