Bio
Recruited from local club Spotswood, Jack Dinatale arrived at the Western Oval with a reputation as a prodigious junior talent. He carved out a unique place in history as a dual winner of the Morrish Medal, claiming the VFL Under-19s best and fairest award in both 1974 and 1976—a feat that highlighted his absolute dominance in the underage competition. A diminutive rover and small forward standing just 173cm, Dinatale was known for his sharp skills and ball-winning ability, but found the transition to the physical grind of senior VFL football challenging. He managed 11 games over three seasons for Footscray, with his most notable performance coming in 1978 when he booted three goals against St Kilda. Ultimately, he could not cement a permanent spot in the senior side and remains best remembered as a decorated junior star who played a brief cameo at the top level.
