Bio
Born in Taradale but educated at the prestigious Geelong Grammar School, Albert "Jack" Dore entered the VFL ranks as a product of the local private school pathway. He made his senior debut for Geelong in the 1898 season, appearing just one year after the league’s formation, but his time at the elite level was fleeting. Dore managed only five games for the Pivotonians without troubling the scorers, serving as a fringe player who filled a gap in the lineup but failed to cement a permanent spot in the fledgling team. His brief footballing stint was ultimately a footnote to a life dedicated to civic duty, as he later moved to New South Wales and established a prominent career as the long-serving Town Clerk of Albury.
