Bio
Jack Edgley was an English-born recruit who travelled a long path from his birthplace in Poplar, London to the muddy grounds of Melbourne. Developing his craft in the Collingwood juniors, he found his path to the senior side blocked at Victoria Park and subsequently crossed to Fitzroy in search of a game. A winger by trade, Edgley was tasked with patrolling the flanks and driving the ball inside 50, managing to snag a single goal during his stint with the Maroons. He struggled to lock down a permanent position in the tough Fitzroy outfit of the time, playing a handful of games over two seasons before fading from the league scene. His brief career serves as a reminder of the many journeymen who filled out the lists during the VFL's pioneer decades.
