Bio
Arriving at Victoria Park as a seasoned 29-year-old from VFA club Williamstown, Jack Farrell provided immediate experience to the Collingwood lineup at the turn of the century. He was a fixture in the side throughout his debut season, missing just one match and featuring in the 1901 Grand Final loss to Essendon. While he chipped in with the occasional goal, Farrell was primarily a role player who added maturity to the squad during a highly competitive era for the club. He managed five senior appearances early in the 1902 season but fell out of the side prior to the Magpies' premiership victory that September, concluding his brief VFL stint with 22 games.
