Bio
Recruited from North Melbourne in the VFA, Jack Geggie arrived at Essendon as a forward and follower before transforming into a reliable key defender. He quickly established himself as a pillar of the backline, holding down full-back in the Same Olds' 1902 Grand Final loss to Collingwood and earning selection for the VFL in interstate representative matches over the following two seasons. Despite his strong standing at East Melbourne, Geggie left the league in 1906 to pursue a captain-coaching role with Richmond in the association. He eventually returned to the VFL five years later with Melbourne, but his stint with the Fuschias was limited to a single senior appearance against his former side—a match where Melbourne failed to kick a goal—before he departed to captain-coach Oakleigh.
