Bio
Arriving at Victoria Park as the third generation of a famous Magpie dynasty, Jack Green Junior was recruited from Broadford to continue a family tradition established by his grandfather, a 1917 premiership player, and his father, Jack T. Green. Standing 185cm, he was a sturdy half-back who offered a physical presence in defence, enjoying his most consistent run of form during the 1968 season where he played 11 of his 18 career games. Despite showing promise as a defender, he struggled to cement a permanent place in a competitive Collingwood lineup and departed the club at the end of 1969. Green continued his career with stints in Tasmania and later with Preston in the VFA, securing his place in history as part of a rare grandfather-father-son chain at the club.
