Stats
Bio
A rugged defender whose brief VFL career was overshadowed by his exploits in the VFA, Jack Haskett managed just three senior appearances for North Melbourne during the 1933 season. Unable to cement a regular spot in the Shinboners' lineup, he transferred to Northcote where he found immediate success as part of their 1934 premiership side. His playstyle was defined by an uncompromising physical edge, best illustrated during that 1934 VFA Grand Final when he was reported and subsequently suspended for striking Coburg star Alex Duncan. Haskett later continued his football journey with Preston in the late 1930s, leaving a legacy as a tough-as-nails premiership backman in the Association rather than a VFL regular.
