Bio
A standout performer in the SANFL with Woodville-West Torrens, Jack Hayes finally earned his shot at AFL level as a 25-year-old mature-age recruit via the Pre-Season Supplemental Selection in 2022. He arrived at Moorabbin with a decorated state-league resume that included premiership success and a Jack Oatey Medal, offering St Kilda a versatile option capable of pinch-hitting in the ruck or playing as a key forward. Hayes immediately showcased his potential by booting three goals on debut against Collingwood, impressing with his mobility and competitive instincts. However, his time in the elite system was defined by cruel injury luck, beginning with a ruptured ACL just five games into his maiden campaign. Persistent foot and hamstring setbacks further limited his ability to get on the park, and despite his obvious talent when available, he managed just eight senior games before being delisted at the end of 2024.
