Bio
Recruited from local outfit the Essendon All Blacks, Jack Henry was a diminutive wingman and rover who faced the difficult task of breaking into a powerhouse Bombers midfield during the Dick Reynolds era. Although restricted to just four senior appearances, Henry was a dominant force at the lower level, winning back-to-back reserves Best and Fairest awards and finishing runner-up in the league's Gardiner Medal count in 1944. Unable to cement a spot in the senior side, he crossed to Williamstown in the VFA in 1946 before eventually moving to Queensland, where he served as captain-coach of Morningside and worked as a state skills coach.
