Bio
Recruited from Wangaratta Rovers following a standout stint at Beechworth, Jack "Mac" Hill was a pacy wingman who managed a brief but promising senior cameo for Collingwood. Recommended to the club by former Magpie Mac Holten, he broke into the lineup late in the 1950 season to replace the injured Des Healey, impressing observers with his tenacity and safe marking across two senior appearances. Despite a strong showing in the club’s reserves finals campaign and the 1951 Lightning Premiership, Hill found himself stuck behind a formidable small brigade that featured icons like Bob Rose, Lou Richards, and Thorold Merrett. With his pathway to the senior 22 restricted by this elite depth, he opted to return to the Ovens and Murray League, where he eventually captain-coached Glenrowan to a premiership.
