Bio
Recruited from Scotch College, Jack Jones was a diminutive but highly skilled rover who bookended his VFL career with stints at University. After appearing in the Students' inaugural 1908 campaign, he moved to Western Australia, where he spent three standout seasons with North Fremantle and became renowned for his precision kicking, specifically his ability to convert torpedo punts from long range. Jones returned to Victoria in 1913 to play one final season with University, providing experienced support to the amateur side just a year before their withdrawal from the competition. Standing only 169cm, he overcame his lack of size with pace and an elite disposal that made him a dangerous prospect around goal.
