Bio
Recruited from Whorouly in the Ovens and King district, Jack Lean was a mature-age debutant who finally broke into the VFL ranks at the relatively advanced age of 27. He joined Fitzroy midway through the 1927 season as a forward option, managing to find the goals during his brief time at the top level with five majors from just half a dozen games. While his age and the competitive nature of the Maroons' lineup limited his longevity, Lean provided a handy target during his short stint at Brunswick Street before his league career concluded at the end of 1928.
