Family

A Riverina product recruited from Ariah Park-Mirrool, Jack Lucas joined the Swans during their historic and turbulent relocation to Sydney in 1982. The nephew of club legend and then-coach Ricky Quade, Lucas was emblematic of the club's early drive to integrate New South Wales talent into the VFL side, playing 19 games over three seasons as the team established its new identity in the Harbour City. Following his time in the VFL, he moved west to play 40 games for Perth in the WAFL before eventually returning to the east coast to win a premiership with Queanbeyan in the ACTFL under the tutelage of his other uncle, Brian Quade. He is also noted as the father of midfielder Kane Lucas, who played AFL football for Carlton and West Coast between 2010 and 2014.
