Bio
Selected with pick 2 in the 2018 National Draft, Jack Lukosius arrived at the Gold Coast Suns as a highly touted South Australian junior known for his exceptional field kicking. During his six seasons in Queensland, he proved to be a durable utility, racking up over 100 games while oscillating between a "quarterback" role across half-back and a lead-up target inside 50. Despite his elite distribution by foot, Lukosius struggled to lock down a permanent position, often swung between arcs as the coaching staff attempted to best harness his skills while managing his development in contested situations.
By late 2024, Lukosius had fallen out of favour under Damien Hardwick and was encouraged to explore opportunities elsewhere. He subsequently requested a trade back to South Australia, joining Port Adelaide ahead of the 2025 season. The move offers a fresh start at Alberton, where his capacity to break lines with precision kicking provides a distinct point of difference as he looks to fulfill the potential shown in his draft year and cement a defined role in a premiership-contending side.
