Bio
Recruited from North Fitzroy, Jack Lyngcoln was a diminutive winger who worked his way through the reserves to briefly break into a powerhouse Collingwood side during the early 1930s. Standing just 173cm, he earned his senior debut in Round 3, 1932 against Essendon and held his place for three consecutive weeks, but he found it difficult to permanently displace the established stars in a Magpies engine room that featured the likes of Harry Collier. Unable to secure a long-term position at Victoria Park, he crossed to the VFA where he enjoyed sustained success with Northcote. Lyngcoln eventually etched his name into Association history as the joint-coach of Northcote's celebrated 1936 premiership side, sharing the duties with Alec Gray to deliver the club's third flag.
