Stats
Bio
A local product recruited from St Stephen’s, Jack McConchie was a high-marking half-forward who often found himself squeezed out of a star-studded Richmond attack. While he was a prolific scorer at the lower level—topping the club’s reserves goalkicking in 1933—he served largely as a depth player for the senior side during their golden era. His time at Punt Road is defined by a cruel stroke of luck during the 1933 finals series; after earning his spot for the Preliminary Final against Geelong, he suffered a broken collarbone that forced him to miss the Grand Final the following week. Unable to hold his place during the Tigers' 1934 premiership run, he departed for a stint in the VFA with Sandringham, eventually returning to the league with Fitzroy where he played out the most consistent football of his career.
