Bio
A local product from West Melbourne, Jack McIntyre's brief cameo in the VFL masked a far more extensive career in the parallel Victorian Football Association. After managing just four senior appearances and a solitary goal for Essendon during the 1903 season, unable to cement a permanent spot in the League lineup, he crossed over to the Essendon Association club where he found his true footing. McIntyre evolved into a durable defensive mainstay for the "Towns," racking up 148 games over a decade-long tenure between 1905 and 1914. While his time at the absolute top level was fleeting, his reliability and longevity in the VFA established him as a resilient figure in the local football landscape of the early 20th century.
