Hailing from the Riverina powerhouse of Wagga Wagga, Jack Mohr joined St Kilda in 1929 from the Federals Football Club as the elder half of a brotherly duo alongside future club legend Bill Mohr. The pair were reportedly courted by Carlton before committing to the Saints, arriving at the Junction Oval with significant reputations from the New South Wales country leagues. While Jack managed to boot two goals across his four senior appearances in that debut season, his VFL career was cut short, hampered by injury issues that reportedly forced a reshuffle of the side's defensive and forward structures. Though his own time at the top level was fleeting, his recruitment remains historically significant for delivering his younger brother to the club, with Bill going on to become St Kilda's greatest pre-war goalkicker and an Australian Football Hall of Fame inductee.
