Bio
A local product born and bred in South Melbourne, Jack O'Brien earned his call-up to the senior side midway through the 1914 season. Joining a powerful squad destined for that year's Grand Final, the opportunistic forward made an immediate impact on the scoreboard, booting two goals across his only two appearances. Despite this promising strike rate, O'Brien could not retain his spot in the star-studded lineup and drifted out of the VFL system just as the competition braced for the onset of the Great War. His brief cameo remains a quiet footnote in the club's history, with the homegrown talent passing away prematurely at just 41 years of age.
