Bio
Recruited from Geelong College where he excelled as a high jumper, Jack Paterson was an athletic half-forward who drifted in and out of the senior side during the 1920s. He made his debut in 1920 but spent much of his early career in the reserves, notably booting two goals from centre half-forward in the club's 1923 Seconds premiership victory. Paterson returned to senior ranks in 1924 to play a valuable supporting role, though he never quite locked down a permanent position in the eighteen. His contribution to the club proved enduring, however; after surviving captivity as a prisoner of war during World War II, he became a dedicated administrator and served as President of the Geelong Past Players and Officials Association.
