Teams

Recruited from the Carlton reserves, Jack Price earned his place in history as a member of Hawthorn's inaugural VFL squad in 1925. He broke into the senior lineup in Round 6 and played 10 games during the club's challenging debut season, booting two goals as the 'Mayblooms' adjusted to the league's highest level. Price transferred to Camberwell in the VFA the following year, where he featured for four seasons before retiring from top-level competition. His legacy is somberly defined by his military service; he was one of the few VFL players killed in action during World War II, losing his life in Syria while serving with the 2/2nd Pioneer Battalion.
