Bio
Recruited from Northcote YCW, Jack Purdon was a dangerous half-forward flanker who provided a spark for Collingwood during the early 1950s. Making his debut in Round 5, 1950, he quickly found his feet at senior level, showing a natural instinct for the goals to average well over a major per game throughout his tenure. He remained a consistent member of the side for two years, a run that included an appearance in the Magpies' 1951 finals campaign. Although his time at the top level was limited to just two seasons, Purdon’s sharp shooting and attacking flair left him with a respectable strike rate during a competitive era for the club.
