Bio
Recruited from the St Kilda thirds, Jack Quinn was a diminutive rover whose league career was fragmented by transfers and military service. After breaking in with South Melbourne, he made a rare early-season switch to Richmond in 1940 and immediately cemented a spot in the senior side, playing in the Tigers' Grand Final loss that year. A crafty goal-kicker who could push forward and hit the scoreboard, his prime years were consumed by World War II, though he managed to play for South Sydney while stationed in New South Wales. Quinn returned to the VFL for a final six-game stint with Melbourne in 1946 before embarking on a long coaching career in country Victoria and Sydney.
