Bio
Carrying one of the most famous surnames in VFL/AFL history, Jack Silvagni arrived at Carlton as a third-generation father-son selection in the 2015 National Draft. The son of Stephen and grandson of Sergio, he entered the league under a microscope but established himself as a high-effort utility rather than a key position star. Silvagni became a fan favourite for his "team-first" ethos, playing roles ranging from defensive forward and tagger to undersized relief ruckman, often sacrificing his own offensive output to quell the influence of opposition defenders.
Despite his versatility and commitment to the contest, Silvagni's tenure at Princes Park was frequently interrupted by injury setbacksโincluding a ruptured ACL that wiped out his 2024 campaignโand fluctuating selection continuity. After a decade in navy blue, the continuity of the Silvagni dynasty at Carlton concluded at the end of 2025. Squeezed out of the forward rotation and seeking a fresh opportunity, he crossed to St Kilda for the 2026 season, tasked with adding experienced depth and structural flexibility to the Saints' lineup.
