Bio
Recruited from local feeder club the Essendon Stars, Jack Symons was a defender who briefly graduated to senior football during the Second World War. A half-back flanker by trade, he served an apprenticeship in the reserves in 1943 before breaking into the senior lineup for three games early in the 1944 season. His time at the top level was fleeting, and he departed Windy Hill the following year to continue his career with Preston in the VFA. Symons later returned to the suburban leagues, notably serving as captain-coach for Boronia in the late 1940s.
