Bio
Recruited from Northcote CYMS via Heidelberg Juniors, Jack Synon was a wartime addition to the Collingwood list who helped fill the breach during the shortage-affected 1944 season. A lightly built player standing 177cm, he was called up to the senior side to make his debut against St Kilda in Round 6, donning the number 33 guernsey. Synon managed seven senior appearances throughout the winter, playing a defensive utility role for a Magpies outfit that struggled for consistency during the war years. While his VFL career was limited to that single season without a goal to his name, he remains one of the vital local recruits who ensured the club remained competitive during the Second World War.
