Bio
A product of the local pathway, Jack Turner progressed through the Richmond Recruits program to make his senior debut as a teenager in 1945. Standing 183cm, he was a key position defender capable of holding down full-back or centre-half back, establishing himself in the number 6 guernsey during the 1946 season where he played the bulk of his career. While he showed promise as a steady backman, his time at Punt Road was unfortunate and brief, abruptly ending at just 22 years of age when a severe arm injury forced him into premature retirement. Turner later moved into coaching with Camden in the suburban leagues, and his football legacy was eventually carried on by his son, Mark Turner, who played senior football for Hawthorn in the late 1970s and early 1980s.
