A local recruit from Richmond United, Jack Watson was a forward who played 18 games for the Tigers between 1947 and 1949. Standing at 183cm, he served as a useful option in attack but found opportunities limited at the highest level, eventually leaving Punt Road to join Oakleigh in the VFA. It was in the Association that Watson truly flourished, becoming a prolific goalkicker who topped Oakleigh's table three times and played in two premiership sides during the early 1950s. Following his playing days, he remained active in community football as a coach for Canterbury, Brighton, and Hawthorn YCW.
