Bio
Arriving at Glenferrie Oval from Bayswater, Jack Zander was a significant physical presence for Hawthorn during the club's "Mayblooms" era. Standing 188cm—a substantial height for the 1930s—he offered a tall target in attack and support in the ruck, managing 11 games in his debut 1933 season. While he struggled to command a regular spot in the senior side over the following years, he returned from a two-season VFL hiatus to kick two goals in his final league appearance in 1937. Zander later continued his involvement in local football, serving as a coach for Glen Iris.
