Bio
Jackson O'Brien is a towering ruckman who developed his football through Lake Wendouree before joining the GWV Rebels in the Coates Talent League. He earned selection for Vic Country at the 2026 AFL National Championships, where he competed well in the ruck and pushed forward to hit the scoreboard against South Australia. Back at Talent League level, O'Brien was a key driver in the Rebels' late-season push. His standout performance came in the Wildcard Round against the Geelong Falcons, where he dominated the ruck contests to help his side secure a finals berth.
Viewed by scouts as a raw but developing prospect, O'Brien uses his superior size and reach to control ball-ups. Around the ground, he provides a solid marking target and competes reliably in aerial contests. While he is still building his craft as a traditional big man, his upside as a natural ruckman is clear. O'Brien's promising year was rewarded with an invitation to the national draft combine, positioning him as a player of interest for clubs looking to add developmental height to their list.
